Physical Therapist & Founder

Erik has dedicated over two decades to the field of physical therapy, specializing in outpatient orthopedics since 1999. Throughout his career, Erik has worked with a diverse range of patients, including injured athletes, weekend warriors, post-surgical individuals, CrossFit enthusiasts, and those recovering from car or work-related injuries.

Today, Erik focuses his efforts on enhancing the quality of services Renew provides to its communities, stepping away from direct patient care to prioritize innovation and growth.

He loves to talk with patients and learn fun facts about their lives, from hobbies to what truly motivates them. Kyle is passionate about helping patients return to the activities they love. He views himself as a facilitator and an educator, helping his patients back to health and independence. Kyle has merged his love of golfing and the human body to become a Titleist Performance Institute certified therapist.

HC---Missy-Garvin---Physical-Therapist

Marissa Garvin, PT, DPT, COMT, Cert. DN

Physical Therapist

Marissa (Missy) Garvin grew up on Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula. She completed her undergraduate degree at Scripps Women’s College in Claremont, California, before returning home to attend the University of Washington, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2021.

She has completed Levels 1-3 of the APTA Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (CAPP-Pelvic). Passionate about improving people’s daily lives, she uses her skills to help clients return to the activities they love. Her treatment approach focuses on the whole person, integrating education, exercise, and manual therapy.

HC---Christopher-Rogers---Physical-Therapist

Christopher Rogers, PT, DPT, Cert. DN

Physical Therapist

Chris received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2011. He practiced in Austin, Texas before transplanting to Seattle in 2014. Having experienced many broken bones, sports injuries, and even surgeries Chris learned from a young age how important rehab is to maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle.

For the last ten years, Chris has worked in a variety of orthopedic settings. He has treated a diverse array of conditions and impairments requiring him to develop a large toolbox of treatment approaches. No two people are alike, and Chris tries to find the treatment approach that fits the individual and works best. Chris uses manual therapy and movement re-education for many conditions, including overuse sports injuries, chronic pain, and post-surgical rehab. Through continuing education and personal experience Chris has developed specialization in working with runners, swimmers, and dancers of all levels. He also does vestibular rehab and treats BPPV and cervicogenic dizziness.

His undergraduate degree in anthropology influences how he approaches clinical problems today. Many modern problems exist because humans are poorly designed to sit in chairs, stare at screens, walk on concrete, wear shoes, live in crowded cities, or eat sugary foods. While the current world is always looking for the latest ‘hack’ to solve such problems it can be more productive to recognize that our more sedentary life and work styles are not normal for the human body. Chris strives to educate and help people to live their modern life while minimizing modern problems.

Away from the clinic, Chris enjoys an active life with many interests including fencing, swimming, running, dancing, yoga, martial arts, travel, writing, music, and cooking. He is also an avid dog lover and can often be seen walking with his wife and two furry boys around Columbia/Hillman City or fostering for Three Little Pitties Rescue.

Emily started with Renew Physical Therapy during her last clinical rotation of physical therapy school with Kyle as her clinical instructor. Renew Physical Therapy’s focus on mentorship and continuing education inspired her to begin her career as a PT at Renew after graduation. Emily’s clinical treatments are often a mix of strength and conditioning, yoga-inspired movement, and manual therapies as needed. She is currently continuing her education in the specialties of pelvic health, hypermobile Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome, and running mechanics. Emily’s goals for patients are not only to treat the symptoms that brought them to physical therapy, but to have them discharged with a newfound enjoyment and appreciation for exercise and movement.

In her spare time, you might find Emily at local concerts, Mariner’s games, or reading at the beach (weather permitting).
