As National Physical Therapy Month arrives, it’s a time to reflect on the vital role physical therapists play in helping individuals recover, strengthen, and thrive. At Renew Physical Therapy, we are proud to celebrate not only our dedication to healing and wellness but also the milestones, achievements, and forward-looking goals that define our journey. Certifications & Professional Development

Dry Needling Certification: We now have 10 certified needling therapists across our clinics, enhancing our range of therapeutic services and staying on the cutting edge of physical therapy.

New Programs:

We’re proud to have launched new programs aimed at expanding our offerings and meeting the needs of our community. These include:

  • SHIFT Program in Renton: An expansion from our Hillman City program designed for performance enhancement and injury prevention after physical therapy.
  • Bike Fitting Program in Renton: For cyclists looking to improve comfort, performance, and safety.
  • Ready Rebound Program: Concierge service for First Responders and their families
  • Pelvic Health Study Group: A collaborative learning environment for our clinicians interested in advancing their skills in pelvic health.
  • Round Robin Lunch Group: A fun and informal gathering to share ideas, challenges, and successes across the team.

Future Goals:

We have several exciting goals on the horizon as we continue to grow and innovate:

  • University Partnerships: We’re aiming to deepen our engagement with DPT programs by offering students enhanced opportunities for clinical learning, mentorship, and career development.
  • Learning & Mentorship Events: We plan to host events that encourage collaboration between seasoned clinicians and students or new graduates, fostering growth, skill-sharing, and professional support.
  • Advancing Our Expertise: We’re working toward official endorsements in dry needling for all of our certified clinicians. Additionally, we aim to expand our services by offering ultrasound-guided needling, allowing us to provide real-time imaging to enhance clinical treatment and patient outcomes.

Fun Facts:

  • Hands and Feet Contain Over Half Your Bones: There are 27 bones in each hand and 26 in each foot, meaning over half of the bones in your body are in your extremities!
  • The Smallest Bone is in the Ear: The stapes, one of the tiny bones in the middle ear, is the smallest bone in the body and helps transmit sound vibrations.
  • Humans Have Over 600 Muscles: There are more than 600 muscles in the human body, responsible for everything from movement to maintaining posture to circulating blood.
  • Animal Physical Therapy Exists: Physical therapy isn’t just for humans—there are PTs who work with animals, especially dogs and horses, to help them recover from injuries or surgeries.
  • PTs Use Virtual Reality: Some physical therapists use virtual reality (VR) to help with balance, mobility, and cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Muscle Memory Speeds Recovery: After injury, muscles “remember” prior strength, enabling faster re-strengthening during rehab. Your pre-op fitness plays a big role in post-op recovery!
  • Microfracture Therapy and Dry Needling: Microfracture surgery creates tiny bone fractures to stimulate cartilage repair, and dry needling can trigger a similar healing response without the need for surgery!
